Are they cotton reels or swingarm protectors? Well they are both really!!
These new style cotton reels were designed to overcome the problem with the Suzuki GSX-R1000 '09 fitted with the standard exhaust/can as our traditional style cotton reels may foul the exhaust under extreme suspension load conditions (see CR0001BK which can still be fitted for these bikes if the standard exhaust/can is replaced).
The cotton reel is mounted to a special bracket (included with the kit) which brings the cotton reel away from the exhaust/can. Due to the position that the cotton reel is mounted, these protectors give protection to the swingarm area and therefore this product has double useage as the bike can still be lifted with a paddock stand on the cotton reel.The protectors are supplied and fitted together, with a special black-anodized aluminum bracket. This bracket is used, the forces occurring in a fall and reduce divert forces from the wing to the rear.
Conveniently, on the aluminum plate, a mark is attached, after you can perfectly adjust your chain.
Since the guards are bolted to the bracket, you can easily exchange after a fall.Delivery: left & right side
